week twenty-nine

welcome ice hockey game

together with the odense bulldogs (ice hockey club) the university organised for all internationals to go watch a game for free. for a lot of internationals is was the first time watching ice hockey which made the atmosphere very special and good. for all internationals food and drinks were organised. we also had our own section at the stadium. on top of that the odense bulldogs played really really well, so the game was very thrilling. it was also a nice opportunitiy to talk to a lot of people because almost everyone attended the event.
realization of the week

since I have been travelling a lot recently it really stood out to me how there are much less people in denmark compared to switzerland for example. this expresses itself in traffic, public transport, on a saturday in the city centre, in restaurants just literally everywhere there are less people. this of course also makes sense because denmark is approximately the size of switzerland but has only about 5 million inhabitants. I really enjoy the fact that there are less people.
one of the highlights of the week
chai latte at cafe sølle
because they do their home made chai and not the powder one:)
update on long-distance relationship

I just want to recap a little bit and talk about my long distance relationship. in the beginning a lot of people and couples who have done long-distance themselves told me that saying goodbye will get easier and that it is also a positive thing to be away from each other because the time you share when you're together is way more intense and beautiful. first of all I want to say that I was very thankful to have these people around me because it gave me a lot of hope. from my experience it didn't feel like the goobyes got easier I think you just get used to it. but all the times we saw each other were truly one of the purest experiences ever. and right now, 6 months into the LDR, I can say that I thought this whole thing would be 'harder'. as I really want to be transparent I can tell you that there were also times where it was not that easy and there was conflict and sometimes even a bit of desperation but nothing we coulnd't handle with the amount of love, determination, trust and patience we put into this. now it's only 3 1/2 months left until I'm back in switzerland and until we are back to no distance again. looking back I'm really proud of ourselves for how we handled this and it showed me that if you want something bad enough you will make it work! (to that I also have to add that I am very glad and grateful that the time of us being apart was forseeable and limited and that we had/have the financial means to meet almost every month)

hamburg trip
with marc
from odense to hamburg it takes you 3 1/2 hours by train which is very convenient. I met up with my boyfriend in hamburg and we spent 5 days together in the city. it was one of my highlights so far this year because everything just felt right. the weather was good more or less, the hotel was really nice and located at hafen city and the city itself has so much to offer and is just overall worthwile to see. we had such a great time together and really made the most out of it.
