week thirty-three

quality time with my sister
the day after anna left (read last blog) my sister arrived in the evening. I was so excited that she's visiting me. I missed her a lot and I was looking forward to spend my easter break with her! first we spent two days in odense before we then went to copenhagen for 4 days. it was our first trip together only the two of us and spoiler alert: we really want to make this a thing to travel somewhere once a year:)
days in odense

since my sister has already been to odense and on the holidays a lot was closed we also did not do too much but rather just enjoyed each others company. we slept in, went out for dinner, cooked together and had breakfast at cafe sølle which you know by now:) we also had our first ice cream of the season and enjoyed it in the park when we got a bit of sun:) I enjoyed her company so much and it felt so comforting and nice to have her here with me.

trip to copenhagen

if you don't know by now, copenhagen is my most favorite city ever, besides zurich hihih. I LOVE everything about it and therefore I was soooo excited to show it to my sister.
nørrebro

we stayed at the hotel kong arthur which is located near nørrebro. I think the area the hotel is in is now my prefered area to stay at. the hotel itself was very nice but for me it does not have to be so nice for a city trip! I would recommend the hotel though I think it's just a bit pricey.

the district nørrebro has to be one of my favorite districts. it is a bit alternative but has such beautiful buildings and very nice residential areas. it is less touristy and you can experience more the life of locals and I love that. on top of that there are so many nice bars, really nice restaurants and cute cafés. we tried a place called ramen to biiru. the atmosphere was great and cozy and the ramen were the BEST I have ever tried. everything was just perfect. I'm for sure going again. the next day we went to a place called brus for beer and a snack and I would also really recommend this place. they have a huge selection of beers and nice items on their menu card. another nice thing is that the district has many tiny boutique stores and some cool thrift stores as well. I think what makes this so special for me as well is that nørrebro lies at the water. I think they are artificial lakes. to me water, if that's a river, a lake, the sea, it makes everything look more beautiful.
christians havn

christians havn is another part of the city which is very famous. it has a lot of beautiful danish houses and canals that look just like in amsterdam. we went to christians havn to visit the van frelsers kirke also called the church of our saviour. this church is very special because you can walk to the top of the tower outside of it. so while walking up you already have a great view over christians havn and the rest of the city! you can also see the øresund bridge from there. I was so happy to be at the top it was a really nice experience. would not recommend for people that are scared of heights hihih.
meatpacking district

I go there almost every time I'm in copenhagen: the meat packing district. it is a area near the main trainstation with industrial buildings that all kind of look the same. here one can find a lot of cafés, very nice bars as well as clubs and fancy restaurants. it is really nice to walk through and see all the different specialites that are offered. my sister and I went there to have a drink after dinner and decided to sit outside of a fish restaurant. we played games the whole evening and enjoyed our cocktails. I would totally recommend to go there and experience the vibes!
...to sum up

we had such a great time (as always in cph)! the food we ate was soooo delicious all the time and we were very lucky with the weather. it wasn't windy and we had only one day of rain! I am super grateful for this trip!
