how I am doing mentally

I think it felt so good to come home from copenhagen and unpack everything knowing I would stay here in odense for the last few weeks of my study year abroad. I feel great that I can only concentrate on what is happening in odense now and focus on all the people and all the things I still want to do before leaving. I am very grateful that I got to travel a lot during my time here in denmark but it also felt good to just know that I could stay home for the next few weeks!
first assignment coming up

this week we had to start writing our first assignment which is due in one week. I think it helped me a lot to not overthink my emotions with just being focused on my work. I went to the library everyday to write on the assignment, so I did not really have to think about how to plan my days because it was pretty clear. it was nice weather almost the whole week, that definitely made it harder to work because I'd rather be outside enjoying the sun hhihihi
celebrating a friend's birthday

on tuesday evening we celebrated a friends birthday in the park. it was very nice to stop thinking about the assignment and enjoy the sun in the park. her friend baked the most delicious strawberry tarte that we got to enjoy! overall it was just so nice!

on friday I fell sick...

...again:( this was very unfortunate since one of my friends hosted a rooftop party on her rooftop terrace and everyone was there. but I knew I had to stay home because it would have only gotten worse!
feeling better on saturday

I went to try out a bakery I have always wanted to try. it's called grain bakery and only offers sourdough pastries and bread. it is very small and you have to be there early to get your hands on their specialties. I went and the lady there walked me through all their pastries and explained everything to me very patiently. I ended up getting their monkey bread which was a kind of a brioche with chocolate and vanilla and a pecan snail. I still DREAM of this pecan snail it was one of the best things I have eaten in my whole year abroad, also considering that I'm not so much into sweet stuff!!
flowers from my dear friend helen

my friend helen put some danish kroner into a envelope which was specifically meant for me to spend on flowers. this meant so much to me because flowers make every room more beautiful! I always was on look out for the perfect flowers but it never felt right but when I went to the supermarket this week, there were these beautiful gerberas in the color pink, coral and orange. these are exactly my colors, so this was a sign to get them. they lasted for so long and made me extremely happy.
